From the supplier: BMW South Africa has responded to the perception that its cars are often stolen or hijacked by offering free insurance against such events. The company has been battling what it considers is a mistaken notion shared by the public and insurers that BMWs are high risks for theft and hijacking. Its own study found that cars with the BMW locking mechanism were never stolen, but offered the insurance to convince the public. As of April 1996, only one claim had been made on the policy since its inception Jan. 1, 1996.

Find out which Motor Insurance suits you best
Motorists in Ireland looking for the best deal on their motor insurance are advised to consider a few pointers before they being their search.
Policies differ depending on many circumstances and are affected by a range of factors that mean two people are unlikely to get the same quote. Because of this, it is difficult to recommend affordable packages or types of policy as each driver has specific needs that vary from their fellow motorists’. As you begin investigating the premiums offered to you, it is wise to consider committing to an insurance scheme that is the best for the make and model of your vehicle.
For example, if you own a new or more expensive motor, then it may be better for you to take out a Comprehensive policy. If you did not opt for this and instead favour Third Party Fire and Theft insurance, then you would not be given funds to fix the damage to your vehicle following an incident in which you are liable. These bills could prove extremely pricey, leading most motorists with newer cars to buy Comprehensive policies.
On the other hand, if you decide to take out the more inclusive type for an older car you may find that it proves more expensive. This is because the extra you pay for the in-depth coverage could exceed the garage bills for your motor should it need repairing following an accident. In this situation, most drivers may choose Third Party Fire and Theft unless they get a great deal with their Comprehensive insurance.
One insurance policy can cover a variety of people, so if you are splitting a premium among several individuals it could become more affordable. Premiums prices in this example do rise to reflect the additional motorists, meaning searches for affordable options are recommended. Some companies offer temporary coverage for additional car users, which is preferred if the individual driving the vehicle gets behind the wheel rarely.
Younger road users who have been named drivers in the past may benefit from getting their own cheap policy in order to build up a no claims bonus and are advised to look for insurers who reward them with discounts if they already have a clean record. Age is an important contributory factor when finding great deals, with youngsters more inclined to go for Third Party Fire and Theft, as they usually buy cheaper cars, which generally attract smaller premiums than newer types, especially where this kind of policy is concerned.
Older, more experienced motorists will find it easier to locate affordable deals, as long as they do not have fines and penalties on their records. Drivers with clean licences can get extras included in their insurance for little or no extra cost, such as breakdown cover and protection of audio equipment.
